PDT Bar PDT (short for Please Don't Tell) is the hot-dog joint for grown-ups. Actually, it’s a hidden cocktail-lounge that is connected by way of Crif Dogs. The hot-dog side is an East Village mainstay known for its deep-fried Jersey-style franks. To access PDT one must enter through a vintage phone booth within Crif Dogs. It has a snug, sexy speakeasy twist, serving up high-quality classic cocktails and a well-chosen selection of beer and wine, food is available from Crif’s kitchen next door.

Try a paper boat of foil-wrapped waffle fries, which in a weird way goes with the Proverbial Apple, a derivative of a martini. PDT’s has an abbreviated menu, but special requests can be made if you have a favorite from Crif Dog.

Specialty drinks at PDT's include seasonal creations and infusions. There is an old-fashioned made from bacon-infused bourbon and maple syrup. Also to found is a seasonal infusion of buttered-popcorn rum. One highlight is the Staggerac, a potent Sazerac made with 140-proof bourbon and absinthe
